We slept in today. It probably has something to do with all the work we did around the trailer yesterday. We were up pretty late getting everything done. So when we got up and moving we had a quick coffee then went right back to work. We forgot that our tail light was burnt out, so Jeff ran out, got a new light bulb and got it changed first thing.
Then we finished packing up the last of our things and got the trailer hooked up and ready to go. Mom is super bummed she’s on her own for dinner this week. I think she’s enjoyed having her dinner made for her every night!!
We were hoping to roll out by 1. Of course we were late, as usual, and hit the road about 1:45. Not too bad considering we slept in. Jeff decided to bring the car this week, so I had Luka as my copilot.
Jeff stuck close with us for most of the trip.
He got some great shots of us driving.
I guess that’s the bonus of driving separate vehicles.
I ended up losing him on the highway, no surprise, he’s a tad faster than me. We rolled into Essex and were set up by 4:30.
Our neighbours knew we were coming.
They’re Doug and Karen’s friends, and they have a little scamp trailer. Much smaller than our trailer, but they don’t live in it full time.
We had dinner with Doug and Karen. Karen had chili ready for us when we got here. It’s so nice not having to worry about cooking on a travel day.
Tomorrow we are planning on grocery shopping and hitting up Costco. Hopefully the weather is better than it was today so we can enjoy the outdoors. Today definitely felt like fall and I’m not ready for that yet!!
